Victoria holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MBA degree from Dartmouth College. She spent her 15+ year post MBA career in a Finance, Business Control, and Operations capacity. Most of that time was spent with large, multi-national, high tech companies.
At the same time, Victoria devoted her personal time volunteering in programs designed around education equity. She has tutored at-risk youth, volunteered at the Barrio Logan College Institute, and served on the board of the San Diego Chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs.
Victoria was able to combine her passion for education with her business background by joining the AVID Center, an Education Nonprofit, as the Senior Director of Business Strategy. AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. AVID trains 80,000 educators annually to close the opportunity gap, in order to prepare all students for college, careers, and life. At AVID, Victoria is responsible for the financial performance and strategy execution of the organization.
