Recipient of a Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. scholarship, Rachel received her undergraduate degree in nursing from NYU Rory Meyer College of Nursing in 2012. In addition, she holds a bachelor degree in English and Psychology from Boston University and a Master’s degree in Psychology from NYU.
Although Rachel places a high value on research and is grateful for the work she participated in during her first graduate degree, she finds great satisfaction providing direct patient care. While working as an RN on an inpatient psychiatry unit, she is now pursuing the Master’s in Nursing Advanced Practice Nursing: Mental Health Nursing program at NYU.
She hopes to provide equitable and accessible mental health care to those in need with a special emphasis on reproductive psychiatry and adolescents. Rachel has always been passionate about a career in mental health and hopes her work as an NP and educator will help to dismantle the lingering stigma still experienced by patients living with mental illness. Eager to help shape the direction of mental health nursing in the future and emphasize its importance, Rachel is a member of several professional organizations as well as student groups, and mentors undergraduate and recent graduates interested in psychiatric nursing.
