Cheryl Petersen

Cheryl Petersen was awarded her second NEF Scholarship as she completes her doctoral studies at Marquette University in Milwaukee. Cheryl is currently working as an oncology research nurse at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. During her twenty years of nursing experience in pediatrics, she has been recognized for her clinical expertise, leadership, and skills as a patient and staff educator. Cheryl’s doctoral nursing research focuses on testing the effects of a patient care program that integrates spiritual care as a dimension of end-of-life nursing care for children with cancer and their families. Cheryl is hopeful that her leadership example and the content of her nursing instruction will echo throughout her students’ work for years to come.
