After receiving her nursing diploma from the Beebe School of Nursing in Lewes, Delaware, Tanya Jenkins, winner of an NEF Scholarship, began her nursing career as a summer camp nurse and found she had a love for pediatric primary care. From there she went on to work in an orthopedic and surgical unit at a rural community hospital. She is currently pursuing a University of Delaware Masters Degree in Nursing. She plans to continue to live and work in rural areas and eventually go on to study in a DNP program. One of her ongoing goals is to develop more efficient standards of care in summer camp settings to improve health safety for the many children who attend summer camps each year.

NEF’s only purpose is to provide nursing scholarship assistance to make graduate level nursing education possible. NEF is one of the largest, single, private, professionally endorsed source of funds for advanced nursing study with over one hundred years of service to and for professional nursing.
NEF’s Board of Directors is comprised of leaders from nursing, education, technology, and business communities. Members donate their time and talent to the advancement of the nursing profession. NEF operates with exceptionally low overhead. NEF employs only one individual who serves in several capacities.
