Recipient of the Barbara L. Tate Scholarship earned her BSN from Villanova University in 1997 and has been a nurse for 19 years specializing in women’s health and obstetrical nursing. She earned her MSN degree in nursing education from Drexel University in 2012 and began teaching in the clinical setting and then as full time faculty.
Adriane currently works at The Pennsylvania State University, Harrisburg as an Instructor of Nursing in their accelerated second-degree nursing program. In addition to teaching, Adriane continues to work clinically at York Hospital in York, PA, where she is the Coordinator of Childbirth and Family Education.
Ms Burgess is a PhD candidate at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, where her dissertation research is focused on exploring the association between maternal ABO blood type and a subtype of preeclampsia. Adriane hopes to defend her dissertation in December of 2016. She is a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), Midwest Nursing Research Society, and Sigma Theta Tau and works actively to publish and present her work.

NEF’s Board of Directors is comprised of leaders from nursing, education, technology, and business communities. Members donate their time and talent to the advancement of the nursing profession. NEF operates with exceptionally low overhead. NEF employs only one individual who serves in several capacities.
