Winner of an NEF Scholarship, Beth Hartley, became interested in nursing when she "shadowed" a family friend who was a nurse anesthetist. After earning her BSN at Drexel University, in Philadelphia, PA, she worked in the Hahnemann University Hospital Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit.   Beth plans to continue on for her Masters then work as a certified registered nurse anesthetist in a large surgical-trauma center, before continuing her studies in a doctoral nursing practice program.

Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. (NEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established by nurses for nurses in 1912, and since then, the organization has awarded over 1,500 scholarships to support the pursuit of advanced degrees in nursing.
