Jasmine M. Blunt


Jasmine M. Blunt is the recipient of the Laura D. Smith National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA) Scholarship. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree at Xavier University of Louisiana, where she cultivated her passion for scholarship and service. Ms. Blunt’s dedication for promoting the health and well-being of others remains central to her mission. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, where she served as a Source Service Scholar and E-Board Member of the National Black Student Nurses Association.

She has completed a Maternal and Child Health Certificate and Health Disparities and Health Inequality Certificate at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Currently, she is dual-enrolled in the Post-Master’s Nurse Educator Certificate Program and the Doctor of Nursing Practice: Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. At her academic institution, she has received the Community and Primary Care Area of Excellence Award and Cohen Scholars Award. She also serves as a leader with the American Association Colleges of Nursing as a Graduate Nursing Student Academy Liaison and Advocacy Leader for Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. 

Aside from Ms. Blunt’s scholastic achievements, she is dedicated to expanding access to affordable, quality primary care in the United States, which is demonstrated by her involvement in the community. Ms. Blunt’s community leadership has had a powerful impact on Baltimore City. She aided in promoting education throughout Baltimore by spearheading the creation of a Mathematics Tutoring Lab for primary and secondary students. In addition, she advanced health literacy in Baltimore City by assisting with the  organization of community health fairs for vulnerable populations. Ms. Blunt aims to utilize her academic achievements and leadership expertise not only to provide comprehensive and holistic primary care to vulnerable populations but also to educate other aspiring healthcare providers to do the same.

NEF’s Board of Directors is comprised of leaders from nursing, education, technology, and business communities. Members donate their time and talent to the advancement of the nursing profession. NEF operates with exceptionally low overhead. NEF employs only one individual who serves in several capacities.
