In healthcare, where compassion meets competency, Jonathan is a beacon of inspiration, destined to illuminate the path to a brighter, healthier future. Having recently been honored with the prestigious Jane Eleanor Knox Scholarship, Jonathan's journey into the world of nursing is not merely a profession but a profound calling rooted in a deep-seated desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need, especially in the oncology field.

He moved to the United States in 1995. In 1993, he completed his BSN at Central Philippine University. In 2001, he completed his postgraduate studies at STI-West Negros University in the Philippines. He is pursuing a DNP at Thomas Edison State University (TESU) in New Jersey. He began his nursing career as a nurse assistant in long-term care while awaiting reciprocity in New Jersey. In 2020, he was appointed Administrative Director of Oncology Performance Measures and Accreditation at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Before his promotion, he was the Director of Cancer Center Administration at Community Medical Center in Toms River, New Jersey, since 2001. He is also an adjunct professor at Pinelands School of Practical Nursing, Georgian Court University, and Central Philippine University.

Jonathan's natural sensitivity and strong dedication to helping others encouraged him to pursue a career in nursing at an early age. Jonathan discovered consolation and purpose by directly seeing the profound effect of compassionate care, influenced by his grandmother, who raised him when he became an orphan at twelve. He embarked on an unwavering quest for nursing greatness, accepting challenges as chances for professional growth and personal development because of his intense desire to lessen pain and restore optimism.

Choosing to pursue a graduate program in nursing was a natural progression for Jonathan as he sought to elevate his knowledge and skills to new heights, enhancing his ability to provide comprehensive and holistic care to patients. The DNP program he selected at TESU resonated with his vision of becoming a versatile and competent nurse capable of meeting the evolving needs of a dynamic healthcare landscape.

Jonathan envisions his latest degree opening many opportunities to enrich his professional journey and empower him to realize his aspirations with unwavering determination. With a deep reservoir of knowledge and direct experience, Jonathan is poised to significantly contribute to the nursing field, shaping policies, pioneering research, and advocating for the underserved with fervor and compassion.

Receiving the NEF Scholarship represents far more than a financial accolade for Jonathan; it symbolizes a profound validation of dedication, commitment, and an unwavering passion for nursing. It serves as a testament to his resolve to make a meaningful impact in healthcare and reaffirms his belief in the transformative power of education and innovation. With God as his guiding beacon, he will continue to stride forward, a paragon of empathy and excellence dedicated to illuminating the path to healing and hope for all those in need.
