Kathryn Phillips, the Lucy Perry scholarship winner, originally started her career in the business field after obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. While caring for older adults she completed a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University. She then decided, with mentorship from a veteran nurse, she wanted to take on the unique role nurses had with patients and finished her Master’s in Nursing at Boston College. Today Kathryn Is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the Adult Health specialty working per diem as a Nurse Practitioner on the Internal Medicine service at McLean Hospital while working towards her Doctoral degree at Boston College.
