Tayyebeh Borogerdi


Tayyebeh is the winner of Lucy C. Perry Fund Scholarship for public health. She is currently a doctoral candidate at Binghamton University, and her research focuses on high-risk pregnant patients, and rural health.

She speaks four languages fluently, Farsi, English, Spanish, and French. She has been traveling, and sharing her midwifery experiences in the USA, Europe, Africa, and in Iran.

Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, she earned her midwifery degree in Luxembourg and master’s degree at SUNY Stony Brooke, Long Island, New York. Tayyebeh has worked as a faculty member and taught nursing, public health, and medical students.

When she moved to the USA in 2008, she started working in the Women’s and Children Department of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York for 5 years. She earned her post master’s degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Binghamton University, New York. She is currently working as a family practitioner serving mostly vulnerable populations including women’s health and pediatric patients as well as the elderly population. She specializes in providing care for diverse populations.

Her professional goals are to reach out to vulnerable populations and provide comprehensive, diverse, and culturally relevant care. She hopes to educate and lead other providers by sharing her experiences in her specialty areas.
