Tristen Hensen


Tristen Hensen is using her NEF scholarship to pursue a Master’s in Nursing Administration and Management from Norwich University. During the past 3 years she has worked on an Orthopedic/Trauma/Plastics medical-surgical floor and for 2 of those years she has precepted junior nursing students, senior practicum students, summer nurse externs and new graduate nurses. She became a member of UBC (Unit Based Council) to get involved and a member of SWIT (Skin and Wound Improvement Team) to become an advocate for patients and a resource for her peers. After obtaining her Masters she will pursue her DNP and one day transition to a position closer to the rural area of New Hampshire that is her home so that she may give back to the community.

Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. (NEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established by nurses for nurses in 1912, and since then, the organization has awarded over 1,500 scholarships to support the pursuit of advanced degrees in nursing.
